“Well done – But you’re not done.”

Passage: Philippians 1:1-11

The opening verses of Philippians reveal this letter as one in a particular Classical form: the Friendship Letter.  Paul has not entered into this relationship lightly, so the Philippians have clearly done a great deal extremely well.  Yet he still encourages them to greater heights, in a Tick-Tock rhythm of encouragement: “Well done”. "Move on”. We have much to learn and much encouragement to draw from these much-neglected opening verses of an oft-quoted letter.
