The Big Picture
The way most Christians study the Bible is rather like doing a jigsaw puzzle without ever seeing the picture on the front of the box. For a long time we may have a clear idea about some small parts (we’ve done the corners and some of the edges), but we have little or no notion of the Big Picture. How many of us have studied supposedly “key” scriptures in depth, heard talks and read books on specific topics, gone to church for a month of Sundays, but still struggle to see how one part of God’s word relates to another?
In this conference Rick Williams offers us “the picture on the front of the box”: a sound Bible Overview. Even those who have studied the Bible for many years testify that this teaching is essential to bring all the pieces of our understanding together. Suddenly, perceived conflicts, disappear, books of the Bible that had remained firmly “closed”, begin to open, and this Book of Books is revealed as much more than simply “the sum of its parts”.
The Speaker
Rick Williams grew up in Australia but studied Theology and was ordained in the United Kingdom. Following 8 years of pastoral experience with various churches, including the Anaheim Vineyard (John Wimber’s church in California), Rick and his wife Lulu headed up the planting of Riverside Vineyard in London in 1988 where they served as Senior Pastors until September 2011.
Rick & Lulu are the Associate Directors of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland with special responsibility for church development and oversight.
